is the Automotive Instructor at Pine Knot Job Corps Civilian Conservation Center. Daniel is an ASE-certified master technician with over 32 years of experience in the automotive industry. He is also an ASE Master Certified Automotive Training Instructor and has trained and mentored students in the UAW-LETC-sponsored program at Pine Knot Job Corps for almost 15 years.

Christopher Gober

Christopher Gober

is a Masonry Instructor at Blackwell Job Corps Center through the International Masonry Institute. He has been in the construction field for 14 years. Christopher is a dual journeyman card holder for both Tile Setting and Bricklaying. He is passionate about teaching others about the trade and its rich history. 

Dan Shumaker

Dan Shumaker

is a Carpentry Instructor at Blackwell Job Corps Center, is a union Carpentry Instructor who instructs in all aspects of the carpentry field, from concrete footings to installing the finishes at the end of the project and everything in between. Dan’s passions include teaching young people about carpentry, the Wisconsin outdoors and looking after the animals on center.

Doug Demeny

has been a Carpentry Instructor at Blackwell Job Corps Center for over five years and has been a union carpenter for over 25 years. Doug enjoys spending time with his wife and son up north and is a huge Wisconsin sports fan. “Go, Packers!”

has been a Construction Craft Laborer Instructor at Blackwell Job Corps Center for 15 years. Prior, he was in the construction field for 18 years. Jason’s knowledge in the field has provided him with the experience needed to teach and mentor students into successful careers in their chosen fields. 

Nathan Grooms - Facilities Maintenance - Ottumwa

Nathan Grooms

Nathan Grooms is a Facilities Maintenance instructor and has been in the carpentry and construction business for over 20 years. Before coming to teach at Job Corps, he worked as a carpenter in the Ottumwa School District. Nathan grew up in the construction business, as his family owned and operated a successful construction company that completed projects like the Wapello County Jail, The Beach Ottumwa waterpark and even Ottumwa Job Corps. He is a six-year Army veteran and worked as a helicopter mechanic. He also spent seven years as an environmental supervisor at a nursing home.
